Side Mount Specialist

Sidemount diving originated in England by Mike Boone as part of cave exploration including Wookey Hole. It is still a growing in popularity and has many benefits. At SMB Diving we are sidemount divers and often use it as our preferred cylinder configuration.

The RAID sidemount speciality is focused on creating good, competent sidemount divers, who dive in trim and control. No floating ali cylinders and good gas management. If you have any questions on sidemount we would be happy to help. We offer sidemount try dives, and help existing sidemount divers improve.

Sidemount is not a technical speciality nor is it a fad. Many divers as they progress through their diving career end up carrying multiple cylinders (even those on twin sets end up with a stage slung on their harness). A Sidemount course is the perfect course to learn the skill of diving with separate cylinders.
